Project Overview
The "Rehabilitation of Kalmadu Scheme Headworks" [Contract No: LK-MOMDE-163045-CW-RFB] is a major water resources and irrigation infrastructure project executed under the Integrated Watershed & Water Resources Management Project (IWWRMP) of the Ministry of Irrigation.
Awarded at a contract value of LKR 484,096,095.57 + VAT with a 730-day (24-month) completion schedule, the project focused on comprehensive structural rehabilitation of headworks, dam spillways, sluice gates, bund reinforcement, and water management structures in the Kilinochchi Range, Northern Province.
Leveraging RR Construction's specialized hydraulic engineering divisions and earth-moving machinery, the headworks were restored to increase reservoir storage capacity, secure agricultural irrigation channels, and safeguard local communities against severe flood risks during heavy monsoonal seasons.
All irrigation civil works strictly complied with Northern Province Irrigation Department specifications, ICTAD/SBD/02 standards, and ISO 9001 quality management guidelines.
